Is Brick and Mortar Still Relevant When E-commerce is on the Rise

E-commerce is undeniably the future of the retail industry. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic,
millions of customers rely on goods delivered right to their doorstep. With fewer people
congregating at traditional brick-and-mortar locations, exposure to the virus is reduced. But a drastic consequence of this is the loss of sales suffered by many retail businesses.

Given our new reality, can brick-and-mortar stay relevant in a time where e-commerce giants such as Amazon continue to dominate an increasingly large portion of the retail market? The answer is YES!

Here are three important reasons:

1. Brick-and-mortar stores can offer brand experiences that e-commerce cannot. Hobby stores,
for example, are often furnished with tables and other amenities which customers can use to
socialize. Likewise, vape stores often have a designated lounge area for customers to kick
back and relax.

2. Brick-and-mortar stores can still offer e-commerce along their traditional retail business.
With modern technologies such as WordPress, an online storefront is easily achievable by
almost anyone with a bit of time, money, and effort!

3. Lastly, brick-and-mortar will stay relevant because there will always be a crowd who would
rather purchase and feel products in person, rather than shopping online. The existence of
the thousands and thousands of malls across the globe is a testament to the success of
brick-and-mortar businesses.

Times are changing and e-commerce is undoubtedly on the rise. So long as traditional retail
businesses can adapt, though, there will always be a place for brick-and-mortar in this world!
